2015 Blind Spot Series

Did you know: Making a blind spot list can be sorta depressing :/ Like shit, I have so many films to watch and what have I been doing with my life and will I ever finish watching them and gahhhhhh life sucks!!

This is one of the reasons for embarking upon this challenge for another year. The 2014 series has been a lopsided success so far in the sense that I have been really late for some of the posts and maybe written a rant instead of a review for one of them, but I have watched and written about all of them and that's a big deal because these are the only reviews I write on my blog currently. I obviously don't want them to remain the only reviews I write but I do hope to be more punctual and less lazy next year.

I will be watching most of my 2015 choices at random again though one can spot that there is a horror film, a noir and a movie with numbers in it that correspond to my age as it will be next year so that's a clue on when to expect them.

My Blind Spots:

So what do you guys think? Have you watched any/all of these? What is your opinion on them?

  1. Interesting picks! Lots of classics. I also have All That Jazz among my 12 selections. 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her looks like the kind of film I might love or hate, hopefully the former for you :)

  2. Great selections! I like that there is a lot of variety. All That Jazz is my second favorite film of all time, I absolutely adore it. The others from here that I have seen are The Conversation, Key Largo, L'Avventura, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Rashomon and Secrets and Lies, all of which I loved. Hopefully you like them as well! :)

  3. An interesting selection of films. With hindsight The Evil Dead would have also been a good choice for my blindspot list next year: http://hitchcocksworld.blogspot.ca/2014/11/2015-blindspot-challenge-final-list.html

Rashomon is an interesting film. I wouldn't call it a favorite but the basic idea (different characters telling very different sides of the same story) is pretty neat and one that has been copied in a lot of later works as well.

    1. ZOMG you have Fight Club among your choices! It's my favourite film. I hope you love it too :D

I have been interested in watching Rashomon ever since I saw TSN, just never for the chance.

  4. You selected some great films. It's interesting that All That Jazz is a popular choice for next year. I've seen it and liked it a lot. Secrets and Lies has terrific acting. O Brother is quite fun and has a killer soundtrack that won the Grammy for Album of the Year.

I see you added Evil Dead too. Are you watching the first one or the sequel? I'm asking this because the picture you selected is from the second film. Anyway, they're both great with the first one being the scary-scary and the sequel funny-scary.

  7. This is a really great list. I've seen eight of these, and you can't really go wrong with any of them. All That Jazz is a force of nature, Don't Look Back is one of the best music documentaries, and O Brother is one of my favorites. The Conversation still plays really well today too. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these!

  8. What's so fun about people's Blind Spot lists is how diverse they all are. Most of these film have nothing in common, yet they are all completely worthy. You'll have fun with many of the flicks here.
