Special Super Random Thoughts Post About Death and Disney

Hi guys! Long time, no see etcetera.

Okay so it's like 3:45 am here and I was in my bed trying to sleep but I couldn't because I was having my occasional thoughts about aging and mortality and about how I am going to age and then DIE one day and I was thinking of how I will be 70 years old in 2062 (if I don't DIE that is, duh) and then I thought about how Disney will still be announcing sequels then and now I am very confused about what to think/feel. I mean, does anyone else feel that Disney is going to be announcing sequels till the end of time? Isn't it weird/creepy?

So yeah, I wanted to share that with you guys (I would have tweeted it but it's too long and did I mention it's 3:45 am here?).

Also, since we're on the subject, here are my two cents of the Tim Burton's live-action Dumbo remake and Frozen 2:

1) Why, Tim Burton? Why?! Also dafuq, Disney? Dumbo is an extremely depressing and disturbing movie as it is and I can't even imagine the trainwreck this film will be. Tim Burton, you were meant for greater things!!!

2) I am not completely surprised that Frozen 2 is a thing but I swear, if it isn't about Elsa falling in love with her Disney princess, I am so not watching it! (Okay I am but still!)

Sorry if this was a waste of your time, guys. Here's Chris Hemsworth's abs and also the rest of him to make it up :D

I would also like to add that this blog is probably on hiatus till my exams get over in May (I may or may not post super random stuff like this so yeah, Idk). Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

  1. I saw the sketch where Chris Hemsworth was Thor acting all crazy and shit. That was funny. I like him.

  2. No, hiatuses are not cool! Also, like, I was all "don't think about death" and then you went there with the Disney sequels and my mood instantly lightened...so thanks for that!

  3. Hemsworth's SNL episode was great, I didn't know he could be funny.

I hope Frozen 2 is Elsa finding her true love with another princess, that'd be amazing.

  4. Don't worry. The world can end before there are too many Disney sequels :)

  5. I'm sorry I haven't been commenting more, but my family crisis meant that my race through 2014's movies was my big pasttime.

Just an hour or two ago, I started telling someone that I think Sony has a 40-year calendar that already lists their next 5 Spider-man reboots. It's depressing and stupid and cheap corporate shilling for cash - and until consumers give them a reason not to shove whatever garbage they can out the door, it's never ever ever ever gonna change.

Disney is actually kind of a worse company - the overly-sexualized characters, the "princess" bulls--t, their promotion of skinny, white and busty as the hallmarks of beauty in *films for children*... How can you expect any better than this from them?

Tim Burton should know better, but whether it's drug use or ego, he's clearly at the point where his head is up his own talented backside. I used to run to see any of his movies, and now they need *really* good reviews for me to even consider it, especially since he is somehow making a lot of shallow trash like Alice and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

I've given up on the guy, is what I'm saying.

Ps, don't worry about 50 years from now, silly - particularly since we're all gonna snuff. Death is, after all, the high cost of living. I know it's not easy to stop worrying, but there are so many things that can go wrong in life. Be good to people, work hard and try to do what you love, and make real connections with people who will treat you well. If you do die in 2062, you can go with a smile on your face.

I like your last paragraph. That's a good philosophy.

  6. Chris Hemsworth was hilarious. The Brothers 2 Brothers sketch, chicken captain and the Bachelor one? He nailed it, best host of the season.

  7. I'd rather Tim Burton make another film like Big Eyes instead of Dumbo, but I am interested to see how Frozen 2 turns out. Fingers crossed that it's great.

    Good luck on your exams!
